AWS offers recommendations and personalized consultation when looking for a quotation on your dredging project. However, we do ask that you have the following project information in mind before contacting us:
What is the pond size?
- Hydraulic dredging requires that the pond be at least 80ft x 200ft
- Our dragline (mechanical dredge) can do smaller ponds
Is there at least 1 ft. of water? And is additional water available to pump to the dredge site?
- There needs to be at least 1ft. of water at all times for a dredge to float
What is the depth of the material to be dredged?
- Our dredges are only able to dredge up to 30ft. in depth
If there are rocks or hard debris in the pond, are they smaller than a baseball in size?
- There are special procedures to dredging different types of material
- Large rocks or hard debris may harm a hydraulic dredge
Is there a disposal plan for the removed sludge?
- Sludge can be disposed on site, land applied or put into geotextile tubes
- AWS can help you determine what would work best for your project
Are the necessary permits in place?
- Private, non-contaminated jobs usually do not require permitting
- Government jobs may require permitting
Is there a budget allotted for this project?
- Budget is key in determining the methods that can be used in removing your unwanted material
