Reality of Project

AWS offers recommendations and personalized consultation when looking for a quotation on your dredging project. However, we do ask that you have the following project information in mind before contacting us:

What is the pond size?

  • Hydraulic dredging requires that the pond be at least 80ft x 200ft
  • Our dragline (mechanical dredge) can do smaller ponds

Is there at least 1 ft. of water? And is additional water available to pump to the dredge site?

  • There needs to be at least 1ft. of water at all times for a dredge to float

What is the depth of the material to be dredged?

  • Our dredges are only able to dredge up to 30ft. in depth

If there are rocks or hard debris in the pond, are they smaller than a baseball in size?

  • There are special procedures to dredging different types of material
  • Large rocks or hard debris may harm a hydraulic dredge

Is there a disposal plan for the removed sludge?

  • Sludge can be disposed on site, land applied or put into geotextile tubes
  • AWS can help you determine what would work best for your project

Are the necessary permits in place?

  • Private, non-contaminated jobs usually do not require permitting
  • Government jobs may require permitting

Is there a budget allotted for this project?

  • Budget is key in determining the methods that can be used in removing your unwanted material
